Kristine Nutting: Kookum Stories (2020 Individual Seed Grant Amount: $5,000)

This project led by Kristine Nutting will highlight the history of Indigenous experiences happening at margins of mainstream Edmonton culture between 1959-1986. The applicant will capture, write, and edit five of Joanne Wood’s stories: Log Cabin Wisdom, Kookum Says Run (Misadventures at the Charles Camsell Hospital), Residential School Runners, Gretzky Never Did the Powwow Trail, Kookums of Edmonton Unite.
