Friday, September 30 will mark the federal statutory holiday National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, as well as Orange Shirt Day, the Indigenous-led grassroots commemorative day which ultimately led to widespread recognition of the practice of wearing orange shirts to raise awareness of the impacts of residential schools. EHC has prepared a downloadable info sheet providing some insights into the significance of this occasion. Learn more at City of Edmonton‘s web entry on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, which includes the video Every Child Matters by Creeasian and Busyrawk as well as a detailed list of featured events. EHC is closed on September 30 in observance of the occasion.
