Deadline: Rolling intake
Change Capital Project Grants provide funding to heritage organizations – up to $20,000, with no matching requirement – to undertake projects that develop internal capacity and new strategies that build resilience within the heritage sector. Applications to the Change Capital Project Grant will be accepted through rolling intake for all of 2022.

Who Is Eligible?
To be eligible, organizations must have been registered as a non-profit society for at least one year and their activities must generally take place within the corporate limits of the City of Edmonton.
Applicants must have received an HCIP grant in the past five years (exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis – please contact email@example.com to confirm eligibility).
Please note: organizations can only apply for one Project grant (either Community Project or Change Capital Project) per year.
Applicant organizations must have existing programming and interpretation specifically about Edmonton stories and a demonstrated benefit to Edmontonians.
Who Is Not Eligible?
Applicants must be up to date with final reports for other HCIP-funded work, including returning any unused grant funds. Applicants who have been granted extensions on other HCIP-funded work are also not eligible to apply.
This program excludes applications from education institutions and government-owned and/or operated facilities. Organizations that receive Operating funding from the Edmonton Arts Council are also not eligible to apply.
Project work cannot already be underway and cannot begin prior to notification of funding.
What Is the Deadline?
Applications for 2022 Change Capital Project Grant funding are accepted and adjudicated through rolling intake. The deadline is November 1, 2022 to apply for 2022 funding; anything submitted after that point will be adjudicated for 2023 funding.
Application to the Change Capital Project Grant is a two-stage process. All potential applicants are required to first submit a completed Expression of Interest (EOI) Application Form, which will be reviewed by EHC Grants Staff. If the project is assessed as eligible for this grant stream, the organization will be invited to submit a full application. At this time, EHC Grants Staff will advise the organization on the deadline of submission for the full application.
Eligible projects cannot begin until notification of funding is received. Applicants are encouraged to submit their Expression of Interest at least two months prior to the planned project start date.
All grant recipients are required to submit a Final Report to the EHC to share the outcomes of grant funding. Final Reports are due 90 days after project completion or by the date listed in the Letter of Agreement signed by the EHC and the successful applicant organization (whichever comes first).
