Performance & Progress

EHC's work is guided by several interconnected frameworks, most centrally Connections & Exchanges (our 10-year strategic vision, now in Year 7), alongside the City Plan, City Council priorities, the Heritage Places Strategy, and UNESCO/National Trust principles. Together, these shape the priorities, programs, and grant streams through which we invest in Edmonton's heritage community.

Over the past seven years, EHC has grown significantly - launching the FIRE program, revitalizing ECAMP, refining grant stream criteria, and deepening our focus on equity. As we approach the end of the Connections & Exchanges cycle, we have identified the areas where we have seen the most sustained impact: among heritage practitioners, within the broader Edmonton community, and across the sector as a whole.

The key performance indicators presented here are not a complete picture of everything we do. They are the clearest ways we can talk about impact and progress. They reflect the goals articulated in Connections & Exchanges while aligning with what Council has identified as priorities: cultural and tourism drivers, community connection and belonging, and a shared sense of civic identity. These KPIs are a tool for transparency, accountability, and forward planning, not a measure of our worth.
