AGM 2022

Note: this past event took place on May 25, 2023.

All of us at EHC thank our active and engaged membership for taking part in our May 25 AGM and for being year-round contributors to the local heritage community. We thank and congratulate our incoming directors James LamoucheKathryn Gwun-Yeen LennonAbbey PrestonRahil Verma, and Geoff Wagner. Congratulations as well to Jean-Louis Zokpe on his election to a second term on our board. We also express our gratitude to all continuing directors and City of Edmonton advisors to the board, with a special nod to departing directors Wendy Birch, Andrea Diamond, Martin Kennedy, Cathy Roy, and Sally Scott (as well as Paul Bujold and Jeanne Lehman, who both departed in September 2021) for their contributions to our work.

We look forward to working with the new EHC Board of Directors in advancing our strategic priorities, as drawn from Connections & Exchanges: A 10-Year Plan to Transform Arts & Heritage in Edmonton and informed by Edmonton’s City Plan.

The AGM concluded with a presentation from Omar Mouallem, whose recent work has included the book Praying to the West: How Muslims Shaped the Americas and the film The Last Baron, both supported in part through HCIP funding. As well, Edmonton City Councillor Keren Tang (Ward Karhiio) brought greetings on behalf of the City. We thank Councillor Tang and Omar for their excellent contributions to the evening.
